Questions and Answers about TOS #2

Hello. We are "Tree of Savior" development team. We have received so many questions from the fans from all around the world. So to give you better answers for your questions, we invited Director syKim. Q) First of all, why is the game called “Tree of Savior” and what is the story of the game?   A) The story starts with a huge tree.  After this tree had appeared on the Earth, the Goddesses who had been protecting the humans suddenly disappeared from the Earth.  Under the attacks from the monsters, humans struggle to live on day by day.   After some time, the warriors who were selected by the Goddess Laima, who controls destiny, save the Goddesses and they start to reveal the hidden stories about the tree and the monsters. Q) How many characters can I create per account?  I mean how many character slots are available?   A) It depends on the size of barrack.  The first barrack that is given to players when they start the game will have four character slots.  However, as you move into bigger barracks, you will be able to create more characters and you will also be able to decorate your barrack.   Q) Is server wide chatting available?  We received a request from a fan that this feature should be in the game.   A) Yes.  There is server wide chatting available in the game and you can do it using a mic.  All the messages that are sent to the server will be displayed on the upper side of the screen and they can be scrolled down as in Granado Espada. Q) When we engage in trades, do we have to set up individual stalls or is there a market where players can register their items?   A) Instead of using individual stalls, we are planning to have a market where all the players can register their items.  However interpersonal trades are also possible.  If we add a feature which allows individual stalls in the game, it will be focused more on purchase requests rather than selling the items.  There is also a feature in the game which GM can submit items to be listed on auction at the fixed times and it will have all the same features that are available in the real auctions.   Q) Is there a level cap? If there is, which level will be the level cap?   A) We are expecting level 100 will be the level cap for the CBT version of the game.  We are talking about the basic level of the characters and there are different levels for each class.   Q) I heard there are 80 types of classes.  Can we choose among 80 classes from the start of the game?   A) No.  There are four classes to choose from at the start of the game.  After that, with each character’s advancement as you play the game, there will be total of 80 classes in the game.  We will have 80 classes for the official launch version of the game and the numbers can increase after that.   Q) Instead of advancing your character class, I heard you can also train your existing class.  What are the benefits for doing so?   A) When you train your existing class of the character, you can level up the existing skills and you can also learn new skills and attributes for the class.  For example, a player who started the game with Wizard may decide not to advance to Creomancer and instead level up the Wizard to 2nd layer of circle.  The skills of the Wizard will be stronger after that.   Q) Are there any specific jobs for crafting the items or to collect the items in the game?  I like crafting stuffs more than hunting.   All classes will be able to collect the items in the game.     Q) How hard are the bosses?  Do we need to control the game like action genre games?   A) It depends on each player’s controllability, but we think that it will not be hard if you understand the patterns of the bosses’ movements.  The bosses that will appear on the raids and the fields may be little more difficult. â–²Bosses are not hard. Q) We don’t use mouse to play the game?  Only keyboard? What happens when I click on the monsters or the ground?   A) When you move or control your character, only keyboard is used, but when you click on UIs, you can use mouse. We had a version of the game which you can move your character using mouse, but it was rather hard to play the game using mouse so we gave up on using mouse. [UPDATED] Known Issues: March 14, 2017

Greetings, Saviors. The issues below have been detected after today's maintenance. We apologize for the inconvenience, and we will update you once they are resolved. 1) Addons affecting map exploration - Using addons will make map exploration reset under certain conditions. The issue can persist even after uninstalling the addons. We believe this problem could be affecting other functions in the game. Please check any addons you may have installed if you encounter issues similar to this. [UPDATE]: We have found that this problem is not caused exclusively by the use of certain addons. We are working to find a solution for it. 2) Auto Match button occasionally not responding - The Auto Match button in instanced dungeons and missions will occasionally fail to respond after being clicked. Please let us know via Support Ticket if you are experiencing other problems. When reporting issues, please be as detailed as possible. Screenshots, character/team/server/class details and timestamps would be greatly appreciated. This will allow us more information to work with on a more specified problem, allowing it to be resolved faster.

This year, we are celebrating our 20th anniversary.     First of all, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to our users for supporting us and using our services for so many years. Thanks to you, we have been able to stay in business, develop our technology, and grow on the way. We would like to share with you our hope that we will not rest on the memories of the past and will continue to develop toward a new horizon of entertainment.     Since the 2010s, the rapid rise of AI technology has brought a huge wave of impact and change to every sector of society. The field of gaming was no exception, and as we saw the impact of AI technology on even the creation that we thought was uniquely human, we realized that this was both a crisis that we had to overcome and an opportunity to take the fun and enjoyment of gaming to the next level.     The impact that AI technology can have on game development and play is far-reaching, but one of the first things we started paying attention to was something we could see and feel. An AI painting technique called Stable Diffusion has seen dramatic technical growth since its announcement last year, and we've been studying it with the goal of training it on content from Granado Espada and Tree of Savior, two IPs we've been developing and servicing for a long time, and today we're sharing our preliminary results.         Last April Fool's Day, we created and released simple digital figures of Granado Espada and Tree of Savior, and while the images were meant to enjoy the April Fool's Day event and the figures don't exist in real life, we were pleasantly surprised by the high quality and vivid depiction of the features of our IPs. Users who saw the image on social media were mostly satisfied with the quality and excited to see it.     <Figurine illustration based on Tree of Savior>     Once the Al program has learned the characters and art style of the game, it allows us to try different ways of representing them besides just using a figurine style. One of the things that we found meaningful was creating "fan art".     One of the most common things you'll find in the community of MMORPGs, where you can customize your character with love, is the so-called "drawing your OC(Original Character)" culture. We believe that the special emotions that make you want to record and show your original character - that spent time together ever since you were a beginner - is a unique value of MMORPGs that you can't get in games where you play with a predetermined character.     <Like an action figure(Left), Try on a new Hanbok(Right) / Tree of Savior>     Creating such a drawing of your character would take the time of a skilled artist. However, if you have a well-trained model with AI technology, you can have an "infinite production" of fan art. By using a combination of different application poses, background themes, and drawing styles, you can depict your character in an infinite number of environments.     <Create multiple art styles for the same character / Granado Espada>     Cosplaying game characters by real people is one of the ways to leverage IP. However, creating high-quality cosplay outfits can be very time-consuming, expensive, and labor-intensive. We were curious to see what would happen if you could do it in different ratios: 5:5, 2:8, 7:3, 9:1, and so on.     <Granado of Savior>     Like the examples above, we are currently working on a plan to maximize the use of these rapidly evolving AI tools. Training high-quality AI models take a lot of time, money, and expertise, but we're making it easy for anyone to reap the benefits of these technologies.     As a first step, we have planned and started a follow-up event of the April Fool's Day figure event, where users can submit screenshots of their characters and we'll create and send them an AI drawing of this character.     [‘Turn your character into a figure style image…for real!’ Event Page]     We hope these images are a small gift to those who love Granado Espada and Tree of Saviors. This event is the start of a series of features we're working on in Granado Espada and Tree of Savior that will allow anyone to train an AI model of their character to create a variety of images with minimal interaction within the game. MMORPGs are an ideal platform for this kind of activity. We're working on augmenting the current community features to allow users to share and view AI images created by others.         In addition to image-generating AI, text-generating AI is also showing great promise and impact. In particular, ChatGPT's near-human conversational and reasoning abilities have surprised everyone, and we expect that these aspects will also enable new experiences in the game world. We're also interested in teaching conversational AI bots to learn in-game settings and interact with them as they would in-game. We're looking to start with something as simple as automatically adding on the quests in the game to make them richer in terms of experience, and then move on to having direct conversations with NPCs in the game. Ultimately, we're hoping to fully train our own language model and create a unified world where the stories of the players and their activities become legendary.         Language AI and image AI are fascinating on their own, but when combined, they will open up even greater possibilities. This is an area of active research in academia and the professional industry. [UPDATED] Known Issues: April 11th, 2017

Greetings, Saviors. We are currently aware of the following issues and they are being worked on. We apologize for the inconvenience, and we will update you once they are resolved. 1) Exploration Map Showing 0% Completion [ONGOING]  - After pressing the "N" button to view the world map, regions appear as though they are unexplored even after the last maintenance. We are continually working on rectifying this issue. 2) [FIXED] Losing Instance entry counts while failing to enter Instanced Dungeons - We are receiving reports of Instance entry counts being lost while failing to enter. Please send in a ticket with your server, team and character name so we can gather more information as well as provide compensation. Please let us know via Support Ticket if you are experiencing other problems. When reporting issues, please be as detailed as possible. Screenshots, character/team/server/class details and timestamps would be greatly appreciated. The more information we have on a specific issue, the quicker it will be resolved.

[SA] Known Issues: May 31, 2018

Greetings, Saviors. The following issues have been recently reported:   1) Lag in [SA] Silute - [SA] Silute players have reported experiencing an increase in lag occurrences after the latest update of May 29, 2018, namely in the region of Sausys Room 9. Upon investigating the source of the issue, we have concluded that it was caused by the addition of new content during the update, which affected unrelated maps as well. We expect to increase the number of channels and rearrange them during the scheduled maintenance of June 5, 2018, in order to promote stable gameplay in the affected maps. Thank you for your patience and understanding.   Please let us know via Support Ticket if you are experiencing other problems. When reporting issues, please be as detailed as possible.
