Re:Build - The Introduction

Greetings, Saviors.   Today we would like to introduce you to the changes in the rank advancement system that will be implemented in the game with the upcoming [Re:Build] update. But firstly we would like to share with the TOS community the reasons why such a drastic change is necessary for the game to be improved.   The Limitations of the Current Rank System   The strength of Tree of Savior as a game is the wide variety of classes available for players to pick and choose from with which they can explore and overcome the many challenges presented to them in the game. This was, and still is, the central philosophy behind our game design.   For such a potential to be fully realized, we believe that all choices that our players make in building their characters should be significant.   However, player choice in character development is rather limited under the current rank system. With the vertical rank structure of the current system, classes of the lower ranks fundamentally fall behind the higher rank classes in efficacy. The lower rank classes are chosen on the basis of the availability of a useful buff/debuff and the classes that do not have such desired buff/debuffs are often overlooked despite the wide array of different skills and features they offer the player.   As a result only 23 builds, on the basis of player preference, have proven themselves to be 'valid' builds for the game. In general, these 'valid' builds mostly consist of classes from ranks 7~8 with some lower rank classes added for support of the main higher rank classes.   In its current state, the versatile character build is no longer Tree of Savior's strength because the remaining builds apart from the aforementioned 23 builds become a ‘regretful’ decision that players want to revoke.    [Rank Reset] was introduced as the means for the players to revoke such decisions in developing their characters but it only deepened the problem at hand and further cemented the more powerful builds in their current place.    New Direction   The restructuring of the rank system, at its core, aims to re-value all available classes equally and further develop their feature characteristics and personality.   In order for this to happen, we will be restructuring the convoluted rank advancement system and removing manual stat point allocation that did little to affect the direction of character growth. Furthermore, class trees will be expanded and rearranged to reinforce the role and the purpose of every class available in the tree.   Overall, the new job advancement system will be more intuitive and convenient in comparison and the underutilized lower rank classes will be repurposed through the 'horizontal' restructuring of the rank system to provide our players with more versatile means to enjoy the game.   Along with the restructuring, current in-game features will be improved upon and new content and balance tweaks will be made to compliment the changes in rank advancement.   The summary of the changes in the rank advancement system are as follows:   1. The current rank system will be replaced with a new job advancement system. - Players will be able to choose any of the classes available in a given tree on advancement. - Players will be able to use the in-game [Class Change] system to readily switch between classes. - Level cap for each class will be extended to 45 and a single character will be given a total 4 classes(1+3) to choose from and combine.(For example, 560 different combination of classes can be made in the Swordsman tree)   2. New class tree and new classes will be added and existing class trees will be partly rearranged. - Players will be provided with a [Class Tree Change] for a limited time to compensate for the expansion and the rearrangement of available class trees.   3. With the removal of ranks, the power difference between skills of different ranks will be minimized and all skills will be adjusted so that every class will be able to more faithfully play the roles that match their available skill-set. - Magic attacks will be changed so that it is possible to land a critical strike, be dodged and blocked.   4. Attribute system will be changed. - The learning cost will be drastically reduced for all attributes. - New feature will be added where players can extract attribute points from their characters.   5. Stat system will be changed. - Stat allocation will be automated and increase with each level to better reflect class characteristics. - Extra stat points obtained through quests or Goddess Statues will be available for the players to allocate freely.    The [Re:Build] update is currently in the process of being tested internally with the goal of being released mid-November for kTOS. A more detailed introduction of the changes made will be released in the coming weeks through the official TOS Developer’s Blog posts.    Thank you.

[COMPLETE] Temporary Maintenance Notice - October 31, 2018

Greetings, Saviors. We will soon begin a short maintenance across all servers in order to correct the issues described in our latest Known Issues announcement (click here to read it). The fix will include a compensation of 500 Popo Points, and the two missing event NPCs (Full Moon Kupole and Attendance Check Helper) will also be restored. This maintenance is expected to take place during the following schedule: [EDT] 02:30 to 03:30 [BRT] 03:30 to 04:30 [CET] 07:30 to 08:30 [SGT] 14:30 to 15:30 Note that this maintenance will affect all server regions. [UPDATE] Known Issues: October 30, 2018

Invite a Friend (Oct 2018)

  Greetings, Saviors! The Invite a Friend event is back for another edition! Team up with a rookie and win new rewards for every character level milestone they achieve, plus powerful boosting buffs every day!   Event Period FROM the scheduled maintenance on October 30, 2018 TO the scheduled maintenance on November 27, 2018 Who Can Participate - Teams created one month or more prior to the start of the event with at least one character of level 300 and above (inviting/active player). - Teams created after the start of the event (invited/new player). How to Participate STEP 1. Find a friend in your server region who is looking to join TOS and go the page linked HERE to create a code for them. Simply follow the instructions on the page and save your generated code. STEP 2. Hand the code to your friend (privately, otherwise anyone will be able to use the code). You can use the e-mail option on the event code page or deliver the code to them personally. Make sure your friend looks for the e-mail in their spam folder as well, as it could be there.  Note: Your friend must have created a team in-game BEFORE using the code or else the code cannot be used! STEP 3. Your friend will need to be logged in to our website and verify their Steam account for the code to be accepted. To verify your Steam account, you can login to treeofsavior.com with your Facebook or Google ID, then access your account settings (click the icon next to the LOG OUT button). STEP 4. Ask your friend to access the page linked HERE and enter the code you created. [CONTEST] Design the Next TOS Weapon!

Greetings, Saviors! We’ve previously introduced accessories, toys, and even Companions based on players’ ideas, and now are giving you the chance to design your own appearance weapons for TOS! Is there a unique weapon concept you’d like to have in the game? Submit your idea and you could see it become a real in-game item!   Event Period Submissions: FROM October 24, 2018 (EDT) TO November 27, 2018 (EDT) - Winners announced on December 4, 2018 (EDT). - 1st rewards (titles and cubes) sent during the scheduled maintenance of December 4, 2018. - Selected weapons sent to corresponding designers after the items are added to the game (release schedule to be announced at a later date).   How to Participate STEP 1. Design your appearance weapon idea. It can be as quirky or extravagant as your imagination allows, but keep in mind that it needs to be feasible enough to work as an actual weapon in-game. - You can design the following types of weapons: Bow, Cannon, Crossbow, Dagger, Mace (one- or two-handed), Musket, Pistol, Rapier, Rod, Shield, Spear (one- or two-handed), Staff, and Sword (one- or two-handed). - You can submit more than one design, but only one design for each type of weapon (you can’t submit two Pistol designs, for example, but one Pistol and one Dagger is fine). One-handed weapons count as a separate type from two-handed weapons (so, for example, you can submit one 1H Mace design and one 2H Mace design at the same time). - We recommend you submit your image in PSD format and at least 800 x 600 in size, or a size large enough to show all of your design’s details clearly. - You could provide the PSD format files by link - (google drive, etcs) as well So the format will look like, the picture of your design, and the PSD files link under - You are free to add gimmick suggestions to your weapon, like visual or sound effects. - If you want, you can also suggest content for your weapon’s tooltip (e.g. “This item was designed by [team] from [server].”) STEP 2. Submit your design(s) to the Fan Art category in the forums until November 27, 2018 (EDT). - If you have multiple designs to submit, please add them all in the same thread. - In your post, make sure to include your team name, server, concept image(s), item description and gimmick/tooltip ideas. - Title your post in the following format: [Weapon Costume] Team Name // Server - If you’re unsure of how to submit your design(s), click here to see Staff_Bob’s example post (don’t worry, we won’t pick his design, as lovely as it is). STEP 3. A total of 10 players will be nominated by our TOS development and design teams. We will select one or more designs from each player’s submission according to quality and feasibility, in order to adapt and release them as in-game appearance weapons. - The list of nominated players and selected weapon designs will be released on December 4, 2018 (EDT). STEP 4. All 10 nominated players will receive a special in-game title (‘TOS Weapon Designer’), a set of Goddess’ Blessed Cubes (10+1) and any appearance weapon(s) created based on their design(s). - Titles and Goddess’ Blessed Cubes will be delivered via in-game Message Box during the scheduled maintenance of December 4, 2018. - Appearance weapons created based on winning designs will be delivered to the corresponding creators after the items are ready to be introduced in the game (release schedule to be announced at a later date).
