Click the links below to read the other GTW guides. 1. How to Play 2. Rewards 3. Strategies and Tips Paths to the Spot Area There are only three Spot Areas in total, but each of them is connected to multiple maps, which allows for different approaches to the battle. Guilds can split and divert the attention of the enemy while the main forces carry on, or enter together for a combined attack. Invincibility Buff Upon entering a Spot Area, your character gains a temporary invincibility buff that lasts for 5 seconds unless you move, jump, or use a skill or basic attack. This protects players when they are entering the Spot Area and allows guilds to move more systematically. Expanded View Your view is expanded within all Spot Area maps, meaning you can zoom out further than you would in regular maps. This gives you a better perception of the full scale of the battle and lets you catch your enemy’s movements earlier. Respawning in GTW After becoming incapable of combat inside a Spot Area, you have multiple options for how and where you can respawn. Requirements Respawn Location Options (default) Goddess Statue in a nearby city (automatic after 30 seconds) Having a Guild Tower Guild Tower Having a Base Camp installed by a Squire in your party Squire Base Camp Receiving the effects of Resurrection On the spot Using a Mysterious Crystal Receiving the effects of a Wide Resurrection Scroll Using different respawn options makes combat generally more unpredictable, but it provides a good chance to turn the flow of the battle in your favor. Seizing Strategies Attacking guilds need to collect points in order to seize the Spot, and there are two ways of doing so. You can stay within the parameter of the Territory Tower and gain points per second according to your number of guild members on the Spot, or you can destroy one of the Amplifiers spread throughout the map to instantly gain 200 points. The defending guild, on the other hand, can reduce the points of the attacking guilds every second by staying near the Tower. Ultimately, the advantage goes to the guild with the most organized reactions to both the combat by the Tower and the Amplifier situation. Kicking Enemies to the City When the Spot is seized during a GTW session, all members not of the seizing guild are kicked to a nearby city. The new defending guild can use this time to place themselves inside the Spot Area according to their strategy, and attacking guilds can also prepare a new approach from the outside. Tactical Elements in the Spot Area There is a variety of tactical elements you can use inside the Spot Area. Element Requirements Effects Territory Amplifiers Dealing the last blow (attacking guilds only) +200 points Damage and movement speed buff Boss Monsters Dealing the last blow (attacking guilds only) Damage taken reduced and immunity to knockback/knockdown GTW Items Using the item Installing combat objects and other beneficial effects Tree Root Crystals Dealing the last blow Different buffs according to the type of crystal Class Strategies Every class has strong points that can give them an advantage in GTW combat. Here are some examples. 1) Templar Templars are not just strong support characters in GTW, they are the best battle leaders. Templar skills reach not just party members but guild members as well, so they are a valuable piece in keeping the guild strong and united. 2) Squire Squires are a crucial part of team if your guild wants to target multiple Spot Areas at once. When a Squire in your party installs a Base Camp, you can choose to respawn there if you become incapable of combat inside the GTW map. This allows you to quickly return to the battlefield or join the attack on a different Spot Area. 3) Scout All Scout-tree classes can learn the Cloaking skill, which is extremely useful for assessing your enemy’s strategy. Knowing in advance what your rivals are planning and how they are moving gives you a major advantage in battle. 4) Mounted Classes Only some classes can summon and mount Companions inside Spot Areas. One of the most decisive factors in the battlefield is mobility, so your guild’s mounted forces will always be an important part of the combat. GTW Restrictions The following is a list of restrictions that apply within all Spot Area maps. 1) Classes that can summon and mount Companions - Cataphract - Falconer - Hackapell - Hunter - Lancer - Schwarzer Reiter - Templar 2) Restricted skills (cannot be used) - Base Camp - Briquetting - Enchant Armor - Equipment Maintenance - Forgery - Gem Roasting - Identify - Item Awakening - Magnum Opus - Oblation - Portal - Portal Shop - Repair - Spell Shop - Switch Gender 3) Restricted consumables (cannot be used) - Anvil (all kinds) - Basic Warp Scroll - Blue Orb (all kinds) - Challenge Portal Scroll - EXP Card (all kinds) - Guild Tower - Monster Card Album (all kinds) - Popup Book (all kinds) - Red Orb (all kinds) - Skill Scroll (Barrier): restricted only within the Tower perimeter - Soul Crystal - Warp Scroll Note: - Elixir cooldown applies as 60 seconds. - Dispeller and Omamori cooldown applies as 30 seconds. 4) Restricted buffs (can be used, but characters under these buffs will not count towards gaining/reducing points) - Annihilation - Burrow - Cloaking - Mijin no Jutsu - Shadow Pool - Stop
Greetings, Saviors. We would like to share some important information about an upcoming balance patch scheduled for the near future. We sincerely appreciate the strong interest shown in the recently introduced class, Blitz Hunter. Since its release, we have carefully reviewed various data and observed that its performance has exceeded our initial expectations. As a result, it has noticeably influenced the balance between in-game classes. In light of ongoing efforts to create a more balanced and enjoyable experience for all players, we are planning on making some adjustment to the Blitz Hunter class. We truly understand and appreciate the dedication and passion many players have shown toward Blitz Hunter, and we recognize the concerns that changes may bring. Please rest assured that this balance update is intended to make other classes thrive along with the Blitz Hunter. In addition to Blitz Hunter, several other classes will also receive adjustments as part of this update. We promise that this change will enhance the gameplay and overall experience of Tree of Savior as part of our ongoing efforts to improve game balance. We sincerely appreciate your continued strong interest in ToS. Please understand that this balance patch has been implemented with the goal of fostering a more refined and sustainable gameplay environment over the long term. The file will be automatically created. Thank you. [UPDATE] You may want to check if your client revision is "175015". You can check your revision number in the 'revision.txt' file at the following directory : /SteamLibrary/ steamapps/ common/ TreeOfSavior/ release If your revision number is not "175015", it means that you do not have the latest version and will need to re-download the client. [UPDATE 2] It may take up to 5 minutes on the loading screen to properly log-on to the game. The screen may also turn white like it is not responding. We would like to humbly ask that you try waiting on the loading screen for a few minutes before closing the client.
Greetings, Saviors! After the first testing period in April, we’re getting ready to start another round of official Territory Wars beta tests in [NA] Klaipeda. The process will be similar to the first week of testing, with 6 days of GTW sessions and multiple rewards for participation and feedback. If you’re interested in joining, make sure to read the entire announcement for all the gameplay changes and feedback/reward details. Testing Schedule This Territory Wars test is scheduled to take place from May 23 to May 28, 2018 (6 days). Like the last tests, the sessions will only be available in [NA] Klaipeda , and they will open every day from EDT 22:00 to 23:00. GTW Gameplay Changes The following are changes that were made to the Territory Wars system after the first round of tests. Anything not mentioned here should behave in the same way as in the previous testing period. If you need a refresher on the basics of GTW, click here to watch our video released in April. Spot Areas - Galeed Plateau and Inner Wall District 8 will be replaced by Aqueduct Bridge Area and Baron Allerno. Safe Zone We created a Safe Zone for the first version of GTW in order to prevent players from being attacked right after entering the Spot Area, but we found two problems with it during the first tests: 1) Skills could be used inside the Safe Zone to block other players. 2) Skills could be used inside the Safe Zone to attack players as soon as they step out of it. Because of these issues, we have removed the Safe Zone and replaced it with a system where, upon entering a Spot Area, your character will now gain momentary invincibility. The invincibility buff will disappear after 5 seconds if you move, or if you use an attack or skill. If your character remains motionless after entering the Spot Area, the buff continues to stay active. Keep in mind, however, that you will not be able to use Dispeller or Omamori items while the invincibility buff is enabled. Amplifiers - Destroying an Amplifier will now grant your guild a bonus of +5 points for every point obtained inside the Spot (10 stacks maximum). - Destroying an Amplifier will also grant members of your guild +5 movement speed and a 30% damage increase in PvP combat (does not stack). - The Amplifier buffs remain active until a different guild seizes the Spot. - Amplifiers will now respawn not only when a different guild seizes the Spot, but also 3 minutes after being destroyed. Boss Monsters During the last period of tests, one problem stood out to us regarding boss monsters: the boss in Inner Wall District 8 would occasionally enter the Safe Zone near the entrance to Steel Heights, becoming impossible to attack. To address issues like this, we have improved boss monster AI and adjusted the buff rewards as follows: - Defeating a boss monster will now not only reduce damage taken by 30%, but also give you immunity to knockdown and knockback. - Boss monsters will now appear in intervals of 10 minutes. Tree Root Crystals Tree Root Crystals will now appear in different color variations all over the Spot Area. Each color of Crystal grants you a specific type of buff when destroyed. Speed Crystal - Drastically increases your movement speed. - Duration 5 seconds. Regeneration Crystal - Immediately restores 30% of your HP and SP, then 500 of each every second. - Duration 30 seconds. Attack Crystal - Increases the damage you deal and the damage you receive by 50% each. - Duration 30 seconds. Defense Crystal - Reduces the damage you receive and the damage you deal by 50% each. - Duration 30 seconds. - Tree Root Crystal buffs will not stack with each other. - Each buff is automatically canceled when you abandon the Spot Area map. - The new Tree Root Crystals will generate randomly every 120 seconds. Respawn Location If you become incapable of combat inside the Spot Area map, you can now choose to respawn not just in the nearest city, but also in your Guild Tower (if your guild has one) or a player’s Base Camp (if a Squire in your party has one installed). Also, respawning in your nearest city will now automatically transport your character to the Goddess Statue for convenience. Points UI - The guild currently seizing the Spot will no longer display in the points UI. - Guilds with 0 points will also not display in the UI. - Guilds with the same number of points (if 1 point or above) will display in order starting from the guild who last acquired or lost points. Results UI - Corrected the graphics to display in English as intended. Templars - Templar characters can now use the Warp To Guild Member skill to move inside the Spot Area as well. Participation Rewards 1) Guilds that have participated at least once in a Territory Wars session during the test period: - [Event] Talt x300 (sent to Guild Storage) 2) Individual players that have participated at least once in a Territory Wars session during the test period: - Instanced Dungeon Multiply Token (14 Days) x4 - Goddess Sculpture (14 Days) x5 - Jumbo Dumpling (14 Days) x10 3) Guilds who have their first victory in the Territory Wars during the test period: - Recipe - Raid Portal Stone x10 (untradable, must be retrieved by a guild member at the Event Notice Board before the next Territory Wars session) 4) Daily attendance reward for individual players (received every day that you participate in at least one Territory Wars session): - Emergency Repair Kit x10 (untradable) 5) Five-day attendance reward for individual players (received after you participate in at least one session per day for five days): - Territory Wars Tester Armband (30 Days) x1 - Emergency Repair Kit x30 (untradable) These rewards will be sent during the testing period as soon as the requirements for the corresponding reward are met, via your Message Box (except for guild rewards). Q. It seems as if the level difference when entering the Siaulai Mission has greatly increased. Are there any plans to increase the penalty ratio according to the now widened level difference? A. We widened the level difference in order to allow for more convenient and faster match-making. This will of course mean that the penalties will have to be adjusted accordingly. We are currently testing different ratios and will apply them as soon as we figure out something that works well. They will be mentioned in the patch notes when they are applied, so please pay close attention to future patch notes. Q. A lot of time on the EXP Tomes seem to be wasted while we travel back and forth between maps or wait in queue for the instanced dungeons. Are there any plans to make them more user friendly? A. We have received a lot of feedback regarding the EXP Tomes and are currently considering many options. We wish to improve them as to allow players to be able to use them to their full potential. We are looking forward to announcing improved versions in the near future. Q. Protecting the "Torch" for 3 minutes during the Siaulai Mission seems to be a bit too long and tiresome. Will there be any chance of re-balancing that particular part of the mission? A. Thanks to player feedback, we have decided to take a close look into improving the game play experience of the Siaulai Mission. While unable to tell you the specifics, we are testing various variations in order to find a good balance. We will make an announcement with more details after the finishing touches are made. Please be on the lookout for any related announcements. Q. When will we able to enter Cut-scenes in Party Quests and not get stuck? A. The particular bug has been fixed in the August 16th Scheduled Maintenance. We offer our most sincere apologies in the inconvenience it had caused before getting fixed, and wish to thank all of you that have endured before it got fixed.
