The Matador is the star performer in bullfighting, using both a cape and sword to bring down a raging bull. This spectacle is one of the most well-known but also one of the most controversial customs of Spanish culture. However, today we will simply take a look at the history of the Matador -- to see how this practice came into existence and how the role of the Matador is reflected in our game. It’s possible that the first recorded bullfight may have been from the Epic of Gilgamesh, where Gilgamesh dreams that he and his friend Enkidu stalked and hunted the Bull of Heaven and offered its heart to the sun god, Shamash. This act was a form of bull worship and animal sacrifice common in Mesopotamia and the Mediterranean region and is where bullfighting can trace its roots. Then it was seen again in the amphitheaters of Rome, where there were many human verses animal events during the rule of Emperor Claudius as a substitution for the short-lived ban on gladiatorial combat. Later in Medieval Spain, bullfighting was seen as a noble sport reserved only for the rich. And, while Spanish colonist took the practice of breeding cattle to the American colonies, the Pacific and Asia, areas of southern and southwestern France developed their own style of bullfighting. The practice of fighting the bull on foot and with the flourishing of a cape and sword was developed by the matador, Francisco Romero, in Spain in 1726. During this time he introduced the world to the muleta, a stick with a red cloth hanging from it that is used during the third stage of bullfighting to hide the matador’s sword. The muleta is used to attract the bull through a series of passes. But it was the matador, Juan Belmonte, in 1914 who upped the ante and introduced the modern practice of skillfully using the muleta to get even closer to the bull’s horns than matadors before him had ever dared to do. From then on forward, matadors stopped using footwork to escape injury and risked their lives by letting the horns just barely glide past them as they directed the bull with the use of the muleta. Now it is important to note that the muleta is different from the capote. The capote is magenta on one side and yellow on the other. It weighs between seven and nine pounds and will stand upright like a pyramid when placed on the ground in the right way. As mentioned before, while the muleta is used during the final stages of the bullfight, the capote is used during the “opening passes” where the bull enters the arena and the matador teaches the bull to follow the cape. If the passes done by the matador impresses the crowd, they will be rewarded with shouts of "Ole!" Although bullfighting is controversial, it is still considered an art form, a tradition, and a highly ritualized cultural event. The matadors work to create an emotional connection with the audience and execute various formal moves during the fight that have not only meaning but also names that allude to the matador’s specific style and school of training. Bullfighting is indeed a spectacle and our Matador class entices us with their agile movements and impressive skills. References The Editors. 2006. Encyclopaedia Britannica. Juan Belmonte. Greetings, Saviors! We continue to process accounts which have been restricted from trading functions. We will be returning each account to its normal state after our evaluation of it is complete and all affected items have been seized. Players whose accounts have been returned to their normal state (without trading restrictions) will receive an alert via GM message in their respective in-game lodge. Special compensation for players to whom DPK-related restrictions were applied will be provided after all the remaining accounts have been processed (this excludes players deemed to have committed serious offenses, who will not be receiving compensation). Thank you once again for your patience and understanding while the investigation is ongoing.

Greetings, Saviors. We would like to announce that we have applied a client patch via hotfix to correct the issue that, for the past days, has caused the daily instanced dungeon and mission entries of some or all of a team’s characters to not reset at the correct time. As you may be aware from reading our patch notes, our team has been closely monitoring this issue and attempting several times to correct it. We recorded the logs of any errors that occurred and, based on the results, corrected the components suspected of causing the problem, gradually narrowing down the possible origins of the initial error. Unfortunately, this being an issue which affects players in specific situations, it has taken us longer than usual to trace the source of the problem and correct it, and we apologize for the inconvenience it has caused. Kindly let us know through a ticket at our Support page if you are still experiencing this issue after today. Keep in mind the time at which instanced dungeons/missions reset: (server time) NA/SA 06:00, EU 00:00, SEA 18:00. IMPORTANT: 1) Make sure to receive the latest TOS patch (April 21) to ensure that the fix is applied. You will need to apply the new patch even if you already have the patch from the latest maintenance (April 18). If you currently have the client open, you will have to close the game and open it again to receive the latest patch. 2) Daily instanced dungeon/mission entries should reset properly starting today, April 21, 2017 (yesterday's entries will not reset immediately). To confirm whether your entries were correctly reset, please check them AFTER the following times: NA/SA: [EDT] 06:00 (server time 06:00), April 21st EU: [CET] 06:00 (server time 00:00), April 22nd SEA: [SGT] 06:00 (server time 18:00) April 22nd Thank you. [UPDATED] We have provided Superior Instanced Dungeon Reset Vouchers (14 days) * 3 ea to everyone via GM messages. Please remember to retrieve them before they expire on April 23rd, 2017.
Magic Research Facility The Magic Research Facility was the research facility shared by the three of the most powerful mages in Nicopolis: The Pervading Queen, the Teal Specter and the Quipmage. But when a collaborative research between the three of them went off the rail, the aftermath of the failed experiment spread throughout the entire city of Nicopolis as the result. The city of Nicopolis had since been off limits because of the experiment's aftermath and it was only after Medzio Diena that people could once again set foot in the ruined city. The Premise The Pervaiding Queen's ulterior motive in the research was to declare Nicopolis as an independent state and perhaps take over the world by destroying the capital and the Royal Palace. If her experiment had succeeded, all living beings on the land would have been either destroyed or exiled to the Other Dimension. Simultaneously, the Teal Specter was looking for a way to nullify magic effects and because of this the aftermath of the Pervading Queen's experiment only spread as far as the borders of Nicopolis. The Quipmage was working to find a way to amplify the effects of magic and this caused the whole of Nicopolis to be affected by the aftermath of the Pervading Queen's failed experiment. By sheer luck, the aftermath of the failed experiment had not spread beyond Nicopolis and all living beings of the magic city have perished during this time, including the three powerful mages. The Birth of the Wastrel The Wastrel was born when the two experiments of opposite natures clashed in the aftermath of the failed experiment. Because of this, the Wastrel drained all mana in its path and even the three powerful mages could not take control of this creature. Because the Wastrel had the potential to drain the whole world of mana, the three mages sealed the area off from the rest of the world. To this day, the Wastrel still remains a threat and must be stopped at all costs. The Wastrel: An Introduction The Wastrel is a creature made up of condensed mana leaked from the failed experiment at Nicopolis. Although he has low intelligence and agility, his skin is tough and he is highly resilient by nature. One example of his resilience would be where he spits out the mana in his possession in the form of eggs and consumes the creatures that hatch out of the egg to regenerate his health. New Equipment Players will be able to obtain the recipes for new Lv 380 gear by completing the Magic Research Facility Unique Raid. ※ The content above is subject to updates and modifications.
