Schwarze Reiters were a German Cavalry unit from the 16th Century. They were armed with a Wheellock pistol and a Sword and wore a Kettle Hat (Eisen Huet) or a Burgonet. Their name, "Schwarz" ( which means "black" in German), originated from the black armor that they wore. Their armor was black because they made it using low quality steel in order to cut down the price. During battle, Schwarze Reiters would wield two weapons at the same time: the Sword and the Pistol. This was because, in this era, armies were attempting to integrate gunpowder weapons into cavalry tactics. For example, the riders would first advance towards the target in rank formations. As each rank came into range of their target, the riders would turn their mounts slightly to one side, fire one pistol, then turn slightly to the other side to fire another. They would then retire towards the back of the formation to reload and repeat again. This tactic was called “Caracole.” Caracole is also known in Dressage as a turning maneuver. but in Tree of Savior, Caracole is a skill used to immediately disengage from the enemy. Commanders expected Reiters to engage enemies with both firearms and swords. While riding a horse they would shoot a pistol at enemy ranks with the hope that the enemy line would collapse. However, Henry IV and Gustavus Adolphus preferred to employ Reiters and Heavy Cavalry in a more aggressive manner, ordering them to press the charge and fire pistols at point-blank range or to use their swords instead. In Tree of Savior, Schwarze Reiter wields both the Crossbow and the Pistol. But our Schwarze Reiters tend to keep their distance from the enemy.
Greetings, Saviors! In order for players to get back into the game as soon as possible, we have unlocked the following accounts as we have finished investigating and processing them. Below is a list of the accounts released today. [NA]Klaipeda As****i Br****lion Ch****ian1 co***n Da****Margery es****es F**ah F**e go****s I**er Ir****ilde J**i Ka****ka ki***q Ks****a Li***s MA****NG Me****Katte P**g ri****we Sa****i Su***1 Vo****w Wa***e Ya****e [SA] Silute A**to B**o Ba****a D***a Dr****l Er****r Fr****ell Fr***n G**c In****art In****Mata Is****z Ka***i L**o Lo**x Lu****arem Mi**o N**a Ne****na Ni****ails Ni****iii Nj****r Q**ie R**xk re****s S****ma Th****nnyKittens Th****os V**s Vi****VDS Vo****andig Vy***s Y**y Yu***a Zh****ong zi**o From the accounts listed here, we proceeded to remove all items related to the DPK error, including those crafted, consumed or otherwise utilized. This includes items crafted using one or more affected material items and gems enhanced using one or more affected items. We did this in all accounts where we deemed that there was no serious offense committed. We will proceed to analyze and release more accounts as the investigations continue, after which we will be processing related tickets. Details about this step will be announced separately. Compensation has been sent to the accounts released today, according to the total duration of their suspension. Special compensation will be provided after the investigation of all accounts is complete. Currently, our investigation is focused on analyzing cases in which the items in question have been circulated, i.e. transferred from the character that first obtained them to another character or companion within the team. Cases in which the items are no longer contained within the team of the character that first obtained them (if they were moved via the Market or personal trade to another account), will take longer to process, particularly in accounts with a large number of items circulated. We'll continue to work towards releasing the remaining accounts and allowing players to return to the game as soon as we can. Thank you.
Greetings Saviors, We would like to announce that there was a slight issue with the event rewards for the first day. Several players were able to obtain rewards meant for another day instead of the rewards intended to be given for the first day. This was unintentional and we have reset the properties related to the event as of 05:20 A.M. (EDT) September 13th, 2016. Players will now receive the intended reward for the first day. Any players that have finished the quest before this time will have had their quest status reset. Therefore, those players will be able to do the event quest once more and receive the rewards for the first day. Please make sure to redo today's event quest before the day is over to be able to receive the second reward tomorrow. We offer our most sincere apologies for any confusion caused by the mixed rewards for the event. Sincerely, IMC Games
February is the month of love, so why not shine a light on our more fanatical of Goddess-lovers, the Zealots. For those of you who are not as familiar with this Cleric-tree class, our Zealots do not call upon the power of a specific Goddess but instead sacrifice their life energy and similar forces to invoke a different type of power to use in battle. There are also rumors that they tortured and assassinated demons during their search for the missing Goddesses. But in regards to this, how does our MMORPG version of the Zealots differ from that of history? First, let’s break down the etymology of the word "zealot". Zealot comes from the Greek word, zelotes, which means, “one who is a zealous follower.” Zealot is also the common translation of the Hebrew word, kanna’im, which means “one who is zealous on behalf of God.” In this historical context, this term was used to characterize members of a 1st century Jewish sect who fought against the Roman rule in Palestine. The more extreme members of this group participated in acts of terrorism and assassination in order to fight against the pagan Romans. When discussing this sect, the word zealot is usually capitalized. The Zealots were adamantly opposed to the pagan Romans that ruled over them. And their views were so extreme that they also opposed any idea of peace between the two political bodies. As Zealots believed they were the defenders and true devotees of the law of God, some Zealots even carried daggers beneath their cloaks to stab anyone they believed were committing a sacrilegious act or who were being too friendly to Rome. A lot of our knowledge about the Zealots during the 1st century comes from the historian and scholar Josephus (37-100AD) who wrote influential works on Jewish history and the political climate of the time. However, Josephus labeled the Zealots as dangerous fanatics and pointed them out as a possible reason why the Romans destroyed the city of Jerusalem. With all of this in mind, it is also important to state that although Jewish Zealots are seemingly the more popular mention, there are zealots in other areas of history as well. The Zealots seen in TOS are not a reflection of the Zealots from the 1st century but more of an interpretation of the word’s core definition “one who is a zealous follower.” Our Zealots express themselves through various skills that reflect the actions of a zealous follower. Skills that involve blind fate, fanaticism, and immolation. Therefore, as you search for the Revelations of the Goddess, have you also given thought to devoting yourself as their follower and becoming a Zealot yourself? References Poole, G. 2017.
