February 2018 Limited Edition Golden Pup

Greetings Saviors, 

It’s no secret that our Developers have been working on a new doggy companion, but what you may not have known is that we will be releasing not only Goro, but also a new limited edition Golden Pup that will be available from the Goddess' Blessed Cube in February.

This Golden Pup was created to celebrate the fact that this year is the Year of the Dog. Or, more precisely, the Year of the “Golden” Dog. 
 

For those of our players who are already familiar with the Lunar Calendar and the Chinese Zodiac, this will not come as a surprise. But for everyone else, this year, starting on February 16th is the Year of the Golden Dog. 

How was this decided? Well, to number the years, one system used in conjunction with the Lunar Calendar is the Stem-and-Branches system. The Stem-and-Branches system is a cycle of sixty terms used for telling time in traditional East Asian culture. These terms consist of two Chinese characters paired up according to their yin and yang. So the term for this year can be translated into Golden Dog. 

This then means that we can call 2018 the Year of the Golden Dog, a designation that comes around only once every sixty years. To celebrate this special event we will be offering a limited edition companion named, Golden Pup to help ring-in the year. Who wouldn't want to start the year of the royal doggo with a royal doggo of their own?
